Commitment Celebration

Sunday, June 19

On June 19, 2016 we will gather as one (one worship service at 10:00 AM) and each family will fill out a commitment card, making their three-year financial commitment to the building of a new worship sanctuary, classrooms, bookstore, administrative offices and youth facility.  After much prayer and reflection on our lifestyles, we are asked to make a financial sacrifice to the Lifestyle Stewardship Campaign. Not equal giving,OneService but equal sacrifice.

First Fruits Sunday

Sunday, June 26

And so our journey begins!  What a joyous celebration we will have June 26, when on First Fruits Sunday we will bring forward to the altar our first campaign financial gift! This day will officially begin our three-year journey to building a new worship sanctuary and renewing our commitment to the community in which we serve.   First Met has proven to be a strong, committed church.  Let us continue to be the living stones used to build a strong, evangelized church that serves the people of God within our church boundaries and through out the community.

A Message from our Leaders:

mccloudAs Campaign Managers of the Faith Forward campaign we have enjoyed seeing the vision of our Pastors manifesting itself. It has been a joy to serve with each campaign team member, as well as seeing the excitement generated by sharing God’s plan for First Met.

Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Our family has continued in faith to support the vision of our Pastors. We know that our efforts will not only be rewarded in heaven, but on earth.  God has something special to honor our sacrifice. We are blessed to be a part of this journey and privileged that we can contribute a portion of what God has blessed us with to the campaign.

In Christ,

Quinton and Tomeka McLeod

As Campaign Managers, we are so excited to be on this Faith Forward walk of KingdomRobbins building. It is such an honor to support the Pastors in leading the church on such an amazing, spiritual journey and there’s nowhere else we would rather be at this very moment.

James 2:17 says, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

For us, the capital campaign is an opportunity to apply and stretch our faith. We’re believing in God for some great things in our spiritual and personal lives as a result of our obedience and we pray that you will do the same and join us on this faith forward journey.

In Christ,

Terrieic & Teneeka Robbins

GantsAs Leadership Campaign Coordinators, we are so thankful and excited to be part of this vision for Kingdom building.  In preparation for this leadership role, we learned that it is not about equal giving, but of equal sacrifice.  Through prayer, we have accepted this position with confidence knowing and trusting God will supply all our needs.

Philippians 4:19 says, “But my God shall all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

For us as a couple, this scripture touched our hearts both spiritually and financially as we begin this journey with our Church. We encourage you to participate in the vision as it becomes a reality. As members of First Met, let’s enter into our Faith Forward Campaign with the willingness and desire to enhance and expand its ministry and better fulfill the Great Commission of Christ.”

In Christ,
Jeffrey and Deborah Gant

June 2, 2016

Greetings First Met Family,

I pray that you and your family are finding joy and peace.

These are exciting times in the life of our church. Since March, hundreds of our members have been preparing for this season of decision regarding our Lifestyle Stewardship Capital Campaign. The presence of God has been manifested in all we have done: the gathering on the great day of fellowship held at the church, our 24 hours prayer celebration where hundreds of members testified to the power of God in their lives, and the dedicated leadership which has guided our activities. There are so many of us working together to do God’s will.

On Sunday we launched the season of decision. Each of us will be asked to make an over and above sacrificial gift to the campaign for the next three years. After much prayer and reflection, Lady O and I shared our commitment of $30,000.00 over the next three years.
Our gift was formed by two things, the great need that is before us as a congregation and the desire to give a gift that reflects genuine sacrifice on our part. Your gift ought to be guided by these same two notions. Remember, it is not an equal gift but equal sacrifice. May your gift be empowered by an adjustment in your lifestyle to the glory and honor of God.0026

Our leadership will make its commitment on June 8, 2016 preceding the great event ‘Vision Sunday’, June 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at First Met. Each member, your family and friends are encouraged to join us for this Sunday of commitment. On Sunday, June 26, 2016, we will return to our regular worship services which will be our First Fruits Sunday. At that time, we are encouraging as many as possible to give 10% of their commitment on that Sunday. If you are unable to give at that level, please feel free to give what you can. Every gift will be appreciated.

God is doing great things at First Met but each of us must be led by Him.

With prayerful expectation and much hope,

Pastor O
